A highly accomplished executive with 30 years’ experience across a breadth of functional operations in multiple countries. Brett moved his family to Canada in 2007 to spearhead the Canadian expansion for Michael Hill Jeweller and over 13 years at the helm built the business to 86 stores from coast to coast. Brett started his career in the Royal Australian Navy and understands that discipline and continuous training and development are the foundations of success. Brett relates a lot of his leadership learnings and qualities to his time spent at sea working within a tight knit team in high pressure situations.

 

Brett’s passion and excitement for talent development led him to develop an internal training academy which was recognized by the Retail Council of Canada and winning the coveted award for Talent Development. A highly visible leader who excels at building capable, committed teams with a clear focus on current and future state business performance.

Whether on stage delivering a key note address, in front of the camera on Breakfast TV giving gifts ideas for the holidays or in a small group around the board room table delivering a strategic message, Brett is comfortable to deliver a compelling message in a way that will leave the audience with a willingness to act.

Brett is now a trusted advisor to the New Zealand government and works closely with NZTE to provide support and guidance for New Zealand companies looking to expand internationally.
